2023
the journey begins
When Julie founded Alessia Jade, she set out with a clear purpose - to redefine what luxury means. When asked, her definition is creating beauty that doesn’t come at the planet’s expense.
She saw a gap for handbags that were both elegant and ethical, pieces that felt truly luxurious while honouring the earth. With that, she set out to pioneer a brand herself.
The quest to research and find the right materials and artisans began. She travelled the globe to meet with manufacturers and source ethical materials. This began the design and creation phase of Alessia Jade.

2024
Innovation in Materials
Through partnerships with leading textile innovators and manufacturers, Julie decides to push the boundaries of social views of luxury fashion. She began designing her first collection: sophisticated, enduring handbags crafted from responsibly sourced materials.
Each piece reflects Julie’s belief that true luxury is conscious – that fashion and sustainability not only can, but should, exist in harmony. These pieces are designed to be timeless companions — made with care for you and for the earth.
Alessia Jade is more than a brand; it’s Julie’s way of showing that the choices we make — what we wear, what we value, what we do — can shape a more beautiful future for us all.

2025
Growing a Conscious Community
A defining year for Alessia Jade, marking the debut of its first collection crafted from next-generation plant-based leathers and recycled materials.
As the brand grows, Julie’s heart, at the centre of Alessia Jade, remains grounded – supporting marine conservation, animal protection agencies and empowering artisan communities within its supply chain.
Here, luxury is redefined – not only by the beauty of what’s created, but by the positive impact it leaves behind.

2026
Global Presence, Local Impact
Looking ahead, Alessia Jade will continue to innovate with sustainable design principles – introducing further next-generation plant-based leathers into the collection, releasing limited collections and increasing their pledges in giving-back.

Our Aim: Create luxury bags that don’t cost the earth

vegan leather
Recycled PU is a type of environmentally friendly material.
It’s yarn is extracted from plastic waste in the form of mineral water and coke bottles reclaimed from waste plants and the ocean. Approximately 13 bottles are used to make the material for one handbag.
These products meet the global recycled standards.

Apple Leather by Frumat/ Mabel
Apple leather (UPPEAL™ by Mabel Industries, APPLE SKIN™ by Frumat) is made from part apple waste, including the peel, core and any scraps. This repurposes waste and can be an additional income stream for farmers.
Both growing and processing the apples and apple waste requires little water compared to traditional leather.
Apple leather is a strong, durable, and renewable material, with a similar texture to traditional leather.

MIRUM® by NFW
MIRUM® is a new, 100% plastic-free plant-based material. MIRUM® is made from responsibly sourced natural rubber, plant, mineral pigments, plant-based oils and waxes, and an all-natural fabric backing. At the end of its life, it can be recycled into new MIRUM® or ground up and safely returned to the earth, making it a naturally circular and climate-friendly option.

Cactus Leather by Desserto
Cactus leather is made from cactus fibres, which are woven
together to create a strong, durable material. It’s similar to traditional leather, but a little more organic looking, and a lot less harmful.
While regular leather is water-intensive, cacti need little water to grow, making it a much more sustainable material.
